Announcing...

...Our Lady Velvet.

After learning about our dear Daisy's misfortune, multiple friends of ours were kind enough to offer us kittens from their litters. In the end, we settled on an older, sweet, black kitten that one family had found and gave us.

Lady Velvet has been met with the approval and love of each family member- including Dad, who said he was, "Quite pleased" with our little kitten. High praise indeed, coming from the man who said three cats ago the next pet we got would live in a bowl, cage, or run on batteries! (To make things fair, we did acquire a few fish after he made that announcement.)

In the beginning Velvet proved herself an accomplished escape artist, having learned to open one of the window screens in the Master bedroom. She has been caught on the roof more than once! Despite our best efforts to convince her to be an indoor cat, Velvet has chosen her own path and is now outdoors, much to Tiger's displeasure. Hopefully he'll come to accept her soon!
