Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

"I'm Five, I'm Five..."

"...I'm a big boy, now I'm five!"

Unlike the song, Elijah is really five and he had a great birthday. Even though Daddy, Josiah, Eleah, Matthew, and Susannah were up in New Jersey visiting family, Mommy and those left home made Elijah's day as special as possible. It was a day full of Legos, a birthday lunch date, chocolate, and one big five year old. For dinner we went over the home of some dear friends where Elijah enjoyed playing with three little boys around his age.

When Daddy and the four children came back, he brought a special present from Meemom and Jake. Here are the pictures of him opening the gift - just for them.

What a child - Elijah loves ripping open the wrapping paper!

"*Gasp* It's a...."

"...a hat!"

"...and a hanger!"

"... and a cowboy shirt!"

Just what he wanted. Thanks Meemom and Jake!

(P.S. Timothy adds - "And he also got a book. But that's not nearly as exciting as a cowboy hat.")
