Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

The Gospel Centered Marriage Conference

Tim and I had the privilege to help staff the National Center for Family Integrated Churches' national conferences in October. This year's conference theme was Gospel Centered Marriages for a Glorious Church. The speakers focused much attention on preparing young people for godly marriages and on defining the roles of the family and church in guiding sons and daughters through the process of a courtship.

Some friends and I hiked up to visit a small chapel at the conference center

Speakers included NCFIC's president, Scott Brown; Doug Phillips of Vision ForumPaul Washer of HeartCry Missionary SocietyKevin Swanson of Generations with Vision; and Dr. Joel Beeke.

with friends before the conference officially began

Over twenty-two hundred people attended this event, completely maxing out the facilities at Ridgecrest, in Asheville, North Carolina, where the conference was held.

My assignment was to help staff the NCFIC's book table, which was kept busy most of the time due to the number of people at the event. As a result, I was only able to slip into the main auditorium to listen to a couple of talks; Tim, on the other hand, heard all of the main speakers since he was one of the "recording guys" as well as a "gofer". He was very impressed with all that he heard, as the other attendees that I spoke with throughout the event. I'm really looking forward to hearing all of the talks on the MP3 recording - click here to purchase your own copy of either the MP3 or CD recordings of all of the talks.

After the conference ended, Tim and I spent a relaxing Sunday afternoon with friends.

Bunny-ears for Tim!

We drove up the the outlook at Ridgecrest and enjoyed the gorgeous mountain view. These pictures honestly do not do them justice.

We were both very grateful for the opportunity to both attend and help - we had such a marvelous time listening to sound, Biblical teaching and fellowshipping with other Christian brothers and sisters. The NCFIC conferences are always an event looked forward to and remembered fondly.
