Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Memorial Day 2014

We've had a long absence in blogging this year... but intend to get back into posting regularly over the summer! Be on the look out for 'back blogged' posts - though our blog has been quiet, our lives haven't been and we hope to post at least a few photos of what we've been up to this year...

Once again this May we had the pleasure of participating in our two churches' Memorial Day celebration. Most of us had the privilege of simply attending this year - the only ones with assigned jobs were Anna-Rebekah, who headed up the photography (you can see her work here) and Ethan, who helped prepare the lunch of NC-style BBQ and hushpuppies.

Below are our highlights from the day - hearing the Veterans speak; Dan the Animal Man; and riding on the Duce, especially. We are so thankful to be able to celebrate those who have fought for our nation's freedom at this wonderful picnic!

Dear 'Gan', sharing from his experience in the Pacific during WWII

Two eldest Price brothers - these gentlemen are a joy to hear and see each year!

Elijah, Jenna Beth, & Daddy, listening under the big tent

Probably our favorite part of the day - Dan the Animal man, here with an albino python

Ethan, hard at work making hushpuppies

...and Tim - making sure Ethan does everything right : )

Hushpuppies!

Sweet Susannah

Lil' Elijah

Anna-Rebekah

...so she's a northerner at... taste : ).
Tim snuck along some real bbq sauce - the North Carolina vinegar-based bbq just isn't our style

Dan the Animal man, this time with a South American vulture...

...and another 120lb python!

Marching in the parade around the pond

...and riding the Duce!

Anna-Rebekah & Eleah with the pie they entered into the pie contest - Eleah made the pie and Anna-Rebekah made the crisscross top.

Mama and her two littlest girls

Brothers, Ethan & Josiah, after the picnic
