Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Giving Thanks

This year we had a non-traditional Thanksgiving celebration. Being unable to visit with any grandparents or other family for the holiday, we opened up our home to any and all "orphans" in our church- that is those who also had no extended family to celebrate with. Over 40 people responded to our invite (about 30 of that number was children- we have many large families in our church!) totaling in 54 people at our home this Thanksgiving! Everyone brought food to contribute, resulting in a grand (and delicious) feast. We had such an enjoyable time, fellowshipping; eating; playing; praying; giving thanks; and reading scriptures with other believers in Christ.

One thing that we are truly thankful for is that though we miss our family, the Lord has provided for us a wonderful church family to edify and encourage us. He is good to those who trust in Him.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Great to hear from you, Bekah! I will definitely be keeping you in my prayers as well! Hopefully we'll both be in full health next week!
