On paper, our day began at 4am - which means to say that 3:50am found us standing on the curb outside of church waiting for our tour buses to arrive for the 4am schedule. We had, of course, been up much earlier - or else had simply pulled an all-nighter, more or less - making last minute preparations. Everyone was tired, but no Orrs were asleep - waiting for a bus in the early morning darkness surrounded by luggage and friends was simply too exciting.
By 4:30, we were off, loaded on bus #2, headed for our opening breakfast at a buffet in Virginia, some four hours away. This first half of the trip was delightfully dull, allowing nearly, if not all, some peaceful hours of sleep- or something akin to it- after the chaos of finding each one's seat died down.

Josiah, far right, talking with friends
Many miles and about four or five hours later, we gathered in the little Virginian buffet and settled in with our plates to enjoy our meal and first talks of the tour.
Mr. Dan Horn gave a brief speech on history itself, pointing out that -
- History never repeats itself; unlike the humanistic view that history is an endless circle constantly repeating itself. History is instead predestined by God, is purposeful, and has a specific ending according to God's will.
- History always repeats itself; "there is nothing new under the sun." (see the book of Ecclesiastes) Mankind remains the same throughout the centuries and lessons from history remain applicable to every generation.
- God should be praised through the study of History

Well yes, it does take serious thinking, but the most important part is the face you make. The faces just make Sherlock Holmes proud to be American.
