This year we hosted our first Fourth of July Neighborhood Celebration - nine families from our cul-de-sac were able to joined us. Everyone contributed a dish to share and we all enjoyed the delicious food and wonderful fellowship. Gary (a.k.a. Dad) read the Declaration of Independence and shared of God's providence in our nations history.
The children enjoyed playing games; riding around in our neighbor's golf cart; singing songs; and waving sparklers. As darkness began to fall, we watched the amateur fireworks display, courtesy of the fathers and young men.
We were so blessed to have nearly all the neighbors on our little street come out and are so thankful to the Lord for such a lovely time. Our only small 'discomfort' was a short Summer shower - but our food stayed dry thanks to the tent and no one seemed to mind the rain too much. The clouds cleared up within 10 or 15 minutes and the rest of our evening was clear - a true gift from God!
Here are a few photos from our time - enjoy!
