Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Happy Birthday - For Real
Our Sweet Susannah celebrated her sixth birthday in June. Needless to say, she was very excited not only about her birthday and the big number six, but also because Daddy was home to celebrate with her since her birthday fell on a Saturday this year.
A recent tradition of ours has been to let the the birthday-person pick a movie to watch. Little Susannah chose a Shirley Temple movie this time (the Little Colonel to be exact) and loved it - although we did have to remind her that the film's theology wasn't quite right (for example, during a baptism scene, Shirley Temple's told that the "water washes their sins away... if you think the right thoughts and believe it will." We know from the bible that salvation comes from faith alone through the grace of God and that baptism is a sign, not what saves). Elijah loved the tap dance scenes in the movie - today in the Goodwill he was 'tap dancing' in front of the mirrors, 'Like Charlie Temper,' he said. He can't quite get Shirley Temple's name right.
We are so blessed to have our sweet Susannah with us. She certainly is a ray of sunshine in our home and a wonderful encourager. We pray the the Lord will continue to bless Susannah with life and pray that her life might glorify Him.
