Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

Day 2- Christ's Church Cemetery

At this point in time - after Carpenter's Hall - our group split into two smaller groups, half going to lunch and half to Christ's Church Cemetery. We were in the latter group (although Timothy and Josiah left with the lunch group to help as grips) and we walked several blocks over to the place of Benjamin Franklin's grave.

Here, we learned that while Franklin most likely died an unbeliever, his Christian upbringing and education influenced his entire life. Franklin redeemed the time in the way by which he lived and influenced society in a powerful way. Benjamin Franklin was the inventor of many things we consider useful and some even necessary for our everyday life, including zippers; the concept of the battery; the Franklin stove; lightening rod; mile markers; the rocking chair; the first postal service; and the first volunteer fire-station among many, many other things.
