With our day only half complete, we walked a few more blocks to our fourth stop (not counting lunch, which was eaten in front of Philadelphia's Mint) - Independence Hall.
At Independence Hall, we needed our bags to pass inspection (no pocketknives on this outing!). Meemom turned to me and said, "They're gonna to love me - I have a bag in a bag!" Mom had about five bags between the diaper bag, a few lunch bags, and such. A big, jolly security guard went through all of her bags. "No dirty diapers!" He said, a smile on his face. Soon the guard came to the lunch in one of the lunch bags.
"Oh! No food or drink allowed! Uh uh! I'm gonna hafta keep it," he said with a mischievous chuckle.
"What!" Came Mom's reply, "They're the baby's lunch - you're going to take my baby's lunch?!"
"Yup, I'm just gonna hafta keep this," the guard continued.
We realized he was only playing and everyone laughed at the joke.

Inside of Independence Hall, we had an very good tour guide who gave us a great many of the main and interesting facts of the place and the actual signing of the Declaration of Independence. It was a very neat experience to be in the very room where our founding fathers sat and debated, paving the way for our liberty.

At the conclusion of the tour, our half of the group walked around the grounds outside Independence Hall while the other half visited Christ's Church Cemetery.
