Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth.

-Psalm 127:3 &4

Day 3- Princeton Cemetery

A great many famous persons are buried in Princeton Cemetery - including, as Dad informed us, Albert Einstein's maid. We visited the graveyard to see the resting places of Jonathan and Sarah Edwards; Aaron Burr, Sr. (husband of Ester Edwards and father of Aaron Burr, Jr. who opposed Alexander Hamilton in that famous duel); Samuel Davies; and John Witherspoon, among others.

Mr. Brown spoke about Jonathan Edwards and the exemplary family life the Edwards had. In the Edwards home, the children honored their parents exceedingly, even rising when their mother or father entered the room. Daughter Ester always referred to Jonathan Edwards as, "my honored father," in all her writings. Edwards desired to be such a father to his children as the Lord is to all His children.

The Edwards family also had their various quirks and were often criticised for their luxurious style - including a love for imported chocolate.
